LensesOnline supports the dedicated volunteers of Coastguard Titirangi.
Coastguard Titirangi's Rescue Boat "LensesOnline Rescue" is a recently commissioned 8 meter Naiad vessel powered by twin 250hp Honda engines.
With a cruise speed of 30 to 35 knots (55 - 65 km/h) this vessel has a range of over 210 nautical miles (388 km) and a top speed in excess of 45 knots (83km/h) allowing for the prompt response to emergency call out's.
In order to assist with search, recovery and support this vessel is fitted with twin Simrad chart plotters, Halo Radar and a Thermal Imaging camera.
This vessel has been funded by donations from businesses, trusts and fundraising by the volunteers themselves.
Coastguard Titirangi is made up of 25 dedicated volunteers, working to keep boaties safe on the Manukau harbour.
All regional units of Coastguard are staffed by volunteers who give their free time to save lives at sea.
